My application for :iconstar-idol-academy: !

RP Notes:
I am available most days to RP, so if you're interested, let me know ^^ just a quick heads up: Kazue is a block of ice and will be difficult to interact with, and can be kind of short at times, so if she comes off as mean during an RP, please don't take it personally x3 I promise I'm not as mean as my character lol x3

I can RP through Discord, comments, google docs, or notes, but i'm most likely to keep up with Discord best.  I'm fine with lit or script, so whichever you prefer ^^

I can RP up to PG (possible PG-13) content, but excessive gore or sexual content isn't something i'm comfortable with.  If you have any questions, let me know ^^

Height: 5’6”/167.64 cm

Weight: 119 lbs./53 kg

Personality:

Studious, punctual, and hyper organized.  Kazue’s greatest strength is her discipline and strong work-ethic.  She was brought up on a strict schedule, and has been raised to work hard and study harder.  She has been trained in academia since before she could even walk, and is talented in the subjects of music and other academic pursuits.

Although she has incredible booksmarts, she is extremely lacking in street smarts.  Kazue is incredibly oblivious when it comes to social situations, and is painfully emotionally dense.  In spite of being incredibly well-read, she has a strange, almost childlike naivety when it comes to pop culture and social interaction.  She has only recently become familiar with some recent trends, including the concept of memes.  She’s extremely socially awkward, but wants nothing more than to understand and fit in with her friends.

Thanks to the rigid schedule that has guided her life for as long as she can remember, Kazue struggles to be spontaneous, failing to think on her feet and feeling the need to plan extensively before taking any action.  As such, she struggles with impromptu performances, always feeling the need to warm up before singing or playing an instrument in front of others.

Due to her upbringing, she feels the need to keep her emotions in check, and has trouble fully expressing herself.  Stoic, logical, and rational, she tends to try and solve every problem logically, and will typically be the type to seek a solution to a problem instead of providing emotional comfort.  She was brought up to push past and ignore her own feelings, and as such doesn’t fully understand the concept of emotional support; she struggles to express empathy and comfort those in distress.

She’s grown used to putting on an act for her parents, and as such struggles with being honest; she tends to gravitate towards lying to please people instead of being truthful.  It has gotten to the point where she isn’t even honest with herself; she denies herself the ability to explore interests she’s been brought up to believe are improper, and tends to stick to the mold her parents attempted to fit her into, though she’s making slow progress to break out of said mold.

She’s incredibly formal, and was raised to have impeccable manners.  Having grown up in an incredibly old-fashioned family, her behavior resembles a hallmark of an era long gone; she’s incredibly serious, mature, highly respectful to those around her (especially her senpais and elders), and her speech tends to be littered with words that most people her age would never use.  She always greets people formally, and gravitates towards using last names followed by the proper honorific even with people she’s close to.  Has to make a conscious effort to use people’s first name when asked, and defaults back to last names when stressed or not thinking about it.

Kazue is also incredibly obedient, and a people-pleaser.  She’s been hard-wired to follow orders, and is incredibly hard on herself if she makes a mistake or does something that upsets others; especially when it comes to people she looks up to.  She tends to be more of a follower than a leader, only stepping up when she absolutely has to.  She does, however, take any task given to her incredibly seriously; always putting 120% into everything she does.  She has a tendency to deny herself breaks when there is still work to be done, but thanks to her friends, has begun to learn the importance of pacing yourself.

In spite of her apparent submissiveness and order-following nature, Kazue still stays true to her values, and will fight to the death for anything she truly believes in.  She has a strong heart, and can be stupidly courageous when it comes to defending her friends and her beliefs; even going so far as to enter a ninja duel for them.  Beneath her reserved exterior is a fiery passion, which only shows itself when circumstances are dire.

She strongly believes that you must work hard if you want to achieve anything in life; almost nothing will come easily to you, so it’s important to give it your all in everything you do.  She dislikes being idle, and makes it a point to practice any skills she’s learned on a regular basis, as the upkeep of old abilities is just as important to her as gaining new ones.  She hates the idea of slacking off, and cannot tolerate the idea of being lazy.

Bio:

[ P r e - S I A ]
Ever since she was young, Kazue has been alone.

Growing up in Wakkanai, Hokkaido, Kazue came from a rich family with a long lineage of world-renowned classical performers.  Her parents, both well known on the classical scene, were often away from home, performing at various places across Japan.  As such, young Kazue was mostly raised by her numerous servants and hired caretakers.

Starting from a very young age, Kazue displayed great musical talent, possessing an enchanting singing voice.  Her parents, hearing of this talent from the letters Kazue’s caretakers sent them, decided at once that their daughter must be trained to follow in their footsteps as a classical performer.  Beginning at only age 4, Kazue was given professional singing lessons, as well as training in Violin, Cello, and Piano.  With all of these lessons absorbing her time, Kazue was kept to an incredibly strict schedule, her entire life becoming like clockwork.  Every day was the same—At 6:30 she would wake up, by 7:30 she began her vocal warm-ups and singing lessons, 9:00 was her piano lessons, followed by Violin at 10:00, Cello at 11:00, and a minimum 5 hours of studying each day.  At first, this was begrudging and annoying for Kazue, but over time, she came to accept it as a part of life.

Although Kazue had spent her early school years privately tutored at home, once she reached middle school age, her parents thought it would be good for her to learn to socialize, so they sent her to a prestigious private music school in Sapporo to continue her education.  At first, Kazue did not take well to sudden increase in unfamiliar faces, and struggled to even speak to any other students, instead continuing to focus on her studies, just as she always had.  However, over time she adjusted to her new environment, and eventually learned to speak with the other students.

Unfortunately for Kazue, most of the students didn’t seem to want to speak to her.  In spite of her efforts to make contact with other people at the academy, most of the students had no desire to open up their friend circles to her.  This discouraged Kazue for a while, but eventually, she did meet two students who were willing to spend time with her.  These two students, Satomi and Youko, would become her closest friends, and the three girls would often spend their free time together, and help each other improve their musical skills.

It was also Satomi and Youko who introduced her to the concept of the Idol.

Ever since they were young, Satomi and Youko had been huge fans of Idols.  They carried this passion with them all the way through middle school, and were shocked when they learned that Kazue had never even heard of the subject.  The two girls, determined to right this horrible wrong, took Kazue to a nearby Idol concert after classes one day.  Kazue, captivated by the shimmering costumes and upbeat, cheerful music, the likes of which she had never heard before, decided in that moment that she wanted to become an Idol.

Upon returning to her dorm that night, Kazue quickly began composing a letter to her parents, requesting that they come to see her as soon as they could, as she wanted to inform them of her recent decision.  A few weeks later, her parents arrived at the school, and Kazue told them that she wanted to be an Idol.  Her parents, appalled by the idea, were quite upset at the idea of their daughter becoming an Idol, instead of a classical performer like they wanted.  Initially, they turned her down, telling her that becoming an Idol was improper, and discouraged her from pursuing her dream.

Kazue, however, did not take no for an answer.

Week after week her parents were bombarded with letters from their daughter, begging them to allow her to become an Idol.  Eventually, this became rather annoying to deal with, so Kazue’s parents told their daughter that she could become an Idol if she could find a school that would give her a good education in the subject, thinking that she wouldn’t be capable of such a thing.  To their surprise, Kazue responded a few months later with extensive details on a school known as Star Idol Academy, as well as how she planned to take care of things such as being able to get to and from the school, where she would be staying (as the school was far from her home,) and all the benefits she felt she would gain from attending the school.

Feeling defeated, her parents eventually gave in, agreeing that Kazue could attend the school once she reached high school age, but on the grounds that she must maintain perfect grades while at the school, or she would have to return home for private schooling.

Elated by this news, Kazue continued her middle school years with a newfound excitement, the promise of attending Star Idol Academy becoming the driving force of her motivation to succeed.  She, Satomi and Youko had decided they wanted to attend Star Idol Academy together, and become the best Idols the world had ever seen.  From then on, the three girls spent their time practicing and preparing for their careers as Idols, taking every opportunity they could to improve upon their skills.

Unfortunately, this period of happiness did not last long for the three.  During their second to last year of middle school, the group began to fall apart.  Satomi, being two years older than Youko and Kazue, had graduated before the both of them.  And although she had made a promise to keep in touch with them, their connection eventually broke off, as letters and e-mails from Satomi began to slow, eventually stopping altogether for unknown reasons.  Youko eventually had to leave the academy, due to a family emergency.  Although she still kept in touch with Kazue, the two never met in person again.  Kazue, devastated by the loss of her only friends, slowly became bitter, returning to her old, reclusive habits.  Although her previous energy had been lost to time and loneliness, Kazue still pursued her dream of becoming an Idol, now driven by the goal of fulfilling the long lost dreams of her friends.

[ Y e a r  1 ]
During the early days of her first year, Kazue spent most of her time by herself; studying, practicing her craft, and keeping up with classes.  Though still bitter over the loss of her friends, thanks to the kindness of several students, she began to try and open up to others.  In addition to making her debut as an idol, she managed to become president of the music club and a member of the Student Council.  Alongside the new friends she'd made, Kazue also got the chance to reunite with Satomi during the winter festival.  Both girls were overjoyed to have met up once again, and Kazue was happier than she had ever been.

[ Y e a r  2 ]
Riding off the wave of happiness from her first year, Kazue continued to blossom and open up to others in her second year.  Though still rather formal, she'd grown to be far more friendly and social towards others; in addition to reuniting with Youko and becoming Student Council President towards the end of the year, her idol career was at it's peak.  Unfortunately, not everything was sunshine and rainbows however; Kazue's second year in SIA proved to be even more chaotic than her first.  Having faced power-outages, illness, an absolute trainwreck of a love story, getting trapped in her own home while hosting a school event, being kissed (accidentally) one too many times, and far too many infirmary visits for both herself and her classmates, Kazue was left mentally and physically exhausted.  It was a year of ups-and-downs for sure, and her world view had been warped beyond belief, but she carried on, learning from her many experiences and growing as a person.

[ Y e a r  3 ]
Kazue's life refused to calm down even as she entered her third year.  As she continued to rise in popularity as an idol, those who weren't fans of the book ninja began to rise up as well.  As she was now close to graduating, her parents had begun to hound her again about coming back home, to the life they desired for her.  But after experiencing so much at SIA, Kazue was no longer sure she wanted such a thing.  She'd even managed to find love at the school, in spite of the arranged marriage her parents had planned for her a year earlier.  Angered by their daughter's disobedience, they launched a smear campaign against her idol career, leaking fake rumors of alleged affairs to try and take her down in hopes of persuading her to come home.  Although their attacks caused her to suffer, Kazue did not relent.  With the help of her newfound friends, Kazue fought back against her parents' efforts, holding a concert to publicly diss them after she'd learned they were the ones behind all the gossip.  She was devastated to learn that her parents would do such a thing, but found a sense of comfort in the independance she'd gained from letting them go for good.

[ P o s t - S I A ]
Once she was free from her parents, Kazue had realized that her entire sense of self had been built around what her parents wanted her to be.  In their place, she found that the pressure from the idol industry was now trying to shape her instead.  As much as she loved being an idol, she wanted the chance to discover herself without so many voices telling her who to be.  As such, Kazue decided to retire from the idol world for the forseeable future after graduation.  Though the experience had meant a lot to her, she wanted to take some time to figure herself out before anything else.

SIA had managed to change Kazue as a person completely.  The girl who'd come in a stoic, reclusive bookworm, was leaving as an independant, strongwilled social butterfly.  The experiences she'd had and the friends she'd made would hold a special place in her heart forever.  Now, with a history of fame, ninjas, love drama and near-death situations behind her, she was heading off to college, to continue to learn more about the world around her, and hopefully a little more about herself, too.

    -       Aside from chocolate, one of Kazue's favorite foods is Shiroi Koibito (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiroi_K…), a popular cookie originating from Hokkaido.  The taste reminds her of home.

    -       Kazue prefers not to be referred to by her first name, but attempts to be more lax about the subject in hopes that it might make her more approachable.  As such, she will not correct anyone if they use her first name, even if she doesn't know that person well.

    -       She’s easily frightened, and dislikes any notion of the paranormal.

    -       She has perfect pitch.

    -       Kazue paces when she's stressed or trying to think.

    -       Kazue does not respond well to a lot of loud, consistent noise and commotion.  She has had several panic attacks, always induced by situations in which she's surrounded by commotion and a lot of really loud noise.  Loud noises also seem to startle her quite a bit.

    -       She has an irrational fear of open windows, due to witnessing several events in which a student's life was put in danger because they tried to jump or climb out of said windows.

    -       Winner of Fashion Gauntlet 2019
